6 things to do when you’re bored of your wardrobe

Sounds familiar?

Hi y’all! Since a few weeks I’m really struggling with what to wear. My style is changing a bit, what means I only wear like 20% of my wardrobe. I’ve been busy for a while with making my wardrobe smaller and only having pieces that I actually wear.

GO THRIFTED

Thrift shopping is a really good idea when you want clothes from a luxury brand (with quality), but you don’t have the money. There are a lot of thrift shops & sites (like UnitedWardrobe.nl). My favorite brands to shop here are Levi’s, & Other Stories, Scotch & Soda and Zara.

SELL YOUR OLD CLOTHES

I know what my wardrobe needs and what I want to buy, but I don’t have the money. (I sell my clothes here). By selling your clothes you get money, you get rid of your clothes you don’t wear anyway, you help the environment and you make anyone else happy with it! What more do you want?

WITH GOOD BASICS YOU’LL HAVE ENDLESS OPTIONS

Basics are the start of a good wardrobe. The basics I’m still looking for are a simple leather jacket, a white tee, the perfect mom jeans and a grey turtleneck sweater. I think with these items your options are endless!

TRY (NEW) ACCESSORIES

A whole outfit or just a top, can look completely different with accessories. A simple necklace, a collar or big earrings can make a huge different. Maybe you already have a lot of accessories, but when you don’t have; make sure you buy quality stuff. It’s a pity when a beautiful necklace after a few months is discolored!

MAKE A SHOPPING WISHLIST/PLAN

If you spend a day shopping, without knowing what you want or need, you buy pieces that you need often wear or not at all. I have a list in my notes on my phone, so when I’m shopping I only buy things that are on that list. At the moment my list consist of; teddy coat, hoodie (pink), leather jacket, black and grey pants, mom jeans. Most of the time I name a brand and a price I want to spend on that item, I think this is very handy because you know what you have to spend and what are you going to spend.

TAKE YOUR TIME (DON’T RUSH)

I’m that type of girl, when she wants something, she wants it immediately. But waiting and taking time is so much smarter. If you take your time, you can consider whether you really need it and so you don’t rush!
